Dental X-rays are an essential tool in helping to diagnose your pet’s oral health issues. While the surface of your pet’s teeth might appear healthy, X-rays provide a detailed view of what’s happening beneath the gum line and inside the jaw. This imaging helps our team of Cairns vets to identify problems such as root damage, fractures, tumors and/or infections that aren’t visible during a routine dental examination.
Dental X-Rays for pets are usually undertaken while your pet is sedated. This allows us to position their head / jaw in the best position for imaging, while keeping them still and not causing them distress. In this instance, we would provide other associated dental services – such as scale and polish treatments – while your pet is sedated.
By uncovering hidden concerns, your pet’s dental x-rays will contribute to the development of a tailored treatment plan, to optimise the health and wellbeing of your pet. Regular dental check-ups are key to maintaining your pet’s bright smile and dental health.
